One of the crappiest weekends ever

So much tragic death this week. Virginia Tech. NASA. Blue Angels. Bomb attack in Iraq killing a staggering 178. So there's that. Then I'm accosted at every turn by the global warming scare mongers. First I run into Yahoo's new 'Green' site where they discuss as fact all the typical lies about global warming, have Gore and Hillary giving commentary, it's just a big mess. I come home and the kids are watching 'Captain Planet' on Boomerang. That is a failed and pitiful attempt to bring socialist environmentalism in a cartoon format, by none other than buffoon billionaire Ted Turner. Boomerang was doing a little "Earth Day" Marathon of the ludicrous cartoon indoc propaganda. The script was hilariously idiotic. But it was insightful to see. But depressing. Then this morning I see a too friendly Fox and Friends interview with Global Warming eager beavers Sheryl Crow and Laurie David. They're in front of the their 'bio-diesel' Earth Day van waxing idiotic on 'global warming'. Why is it so cool still here in South Texas? Wierd. Anyways, they put that 'this is not a republican or democrat' spin on it, as they all do now, as a little psychology to have you believe that it MUST be true. No, it's very much a LIBERAL DEMOCRAT/Socialist/communist agenda, and it always has and will be. Don't feed me that horseshit. Oh and Crow is also now on the record saying the debate is over. I LOVE that. The debate is over. That is arrogance mixed with desperation. They are trying to jam this down our throats so hard and fast because they believe it can shape the 2008 elections in their favor.

And what else is bad. We're trying to figure out how to balance our new higher mortgage rate for this year. And it's been overcast Friday, Saturday, and will be today. Sigh.

What has happened in the last three weeks is nothing short of incredible. Fred Thompson with nothing more than a teaser announcement on Fox news Sunday has rocketed to a solid 3 position (statistical number two position in one major poll) for the Republican nomination. Scores of internet polls have him crushing the competition. I have been watching Presidential politics for a long time and I have never seen this level of gut fervor arising from the grassroots, it's unprecedented.

May 4! Get ready to party down.

An American Imperative, Senator Fred Thompson must run

I must tell you, I have very little optimism for our country if Fred Thompson does not run for President in 2008. Many Republicans such as myself were faced with the daunting task of having to choose from one of three GOP candidates that all share "two-thirds-itis"; each mustering only 2/3's of what it takes to make a smashing conservative GOP candidate. 2/3's does not stir the soul, it does not animate, it does not inspire. What it does is create apathy, disenchantment. It is a pizza without cheese. YUM~

So seemingly out of nowhere, here comes this giant of a man named Fred Thompson. He sits down next to Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday. In that interview, I couldn't help but notice what a presence he had. I don't mean this derogatorily, but Chris Wallace appeared something akin to a gnat. Ok, I'm being derogatory. Just with that observance though, I knew this could be the man to lead the GOP out of the muck we currently find ourselves. He was so larger than life, with a voice so deep and to the point, his views on the issues almost seemed secondary. But lo, he calmly voiced his conservative positions, one after the other. For conservatives who follow politics closely, you will agree the experience was surreal. The interview concluded and I found myself walking to the kitchen with fists pumping, I was freaking stoked and let out a shriek or a yell or something like that. I was flat out giddy. I knew in an instant that everything had changed. Rudy McRomney was put on notice. I felt sorry for Rudy McRomney, I really did. So much preparation, so much effort...blood. Sweat. Tears. And like the thief in the night, here came Fred Thompson. In one effortless interview, Rudy McRomney, as well as the Democratic party gasped in horror and utter disbelief. For the Democrats, this one was in the bag. A Clinton/Obama ticket would defeat Giuliani by a narrow margin and all would be well. But now Thompson?! They've seen this type before, and they know what this type of person did to them in the 80's. Only this type is a bigger, meaner, and younger version of Ronaldus Maximus. That can only mean one thing. Trouble. Big, BIG trouble. Only after three weeks of his FNS interview where he stated he was leaving the door open to run, he is already in third place among the GOP. What will happen when he announces? It will move the Earth politically speaking, and the seismic readings will be off the charts at the DNC. The Democrats are currently enjoying beating up on an administration that refuses to fight back, a demoralized base, and general GOP malaise. All that is changing and will change demonstrably when Thompson announces. To my Democratic friends, please enjoy yourselves for now. Relish in the Libby indictment. Relish the faux federal attorney scandal, your little pathetic Rove witch hunt, and your disgraceful bills pulling the carpet from underneath our military in theater. Because you know what? The jig is up sad sacks. We've found our man and do you know what that means? Oh dear...

Ok, I get it, white males are buffoons...

This morning I'm having my coffee and tacos and see a Fedex/Kinkos commercial where in a morning briefing the boss is giving what is presumably a 'tall order' for the days tasks. So the dumb white guy starts to panic and begins chugging a full coffee pot spilling more coffee on himself than drinking...at the same time the very smart white female calmly and coolly reports that with fedex/kinko she can wrap it all up quickly and efficiently. Then the dumb white buffoon with coffee all over himself says...'what? what'd she say?'

The underlining presumption, which is what really offends me, is that all white males are wealthy and privileged, and just RIPE and long overdue to be made fun of. How many white males out there like myself are wealthy and privileged? 100%? I come from a broken family, was below the poverty line on two long occasions when I was growing up, I joined the Navy for college money, then I busted ass waiting tables to finish school...but I guess and I am white and male, so... I lose.


I don't lose sleep over these, some are downright funny. The dumb white guy who goes to battle with the barbecue pit in the backyard while the two smart women discuss the blinds is pretty funny...but still, I am sick of them.

The dumb white commercials have a spanned a good 7 or 8 years now. Can we just finally put them to bed?

Skunks and sin

So I was driving to work this morning, praying. I drove past a poor roadkill skunk. Skunkburgers! Yeah!

But seriously, it was one of those roadkill skunks that was one unholy stink bomb. You know the ones...so freaking strong you can taste it. So it struck me that while I was praying, this must be what God smells when we turn our backs on him and sin it up...stink it up. I thought about my great abundance of sins in my very recent past and thought of how it's the same thing as throwing a bunch of smelly dead skunks at His feet. The smell of that dead skunk just kind of brought it home to me in a very small way what our sin does to our Lord.

Maybe think of that next time you are in the near occasion of sin. Do you want to throw a dead skunk at His feet or or lay at His feet a bouquet of roses?

Where is Genghis Khan when you need him?

It's become apparent to many that the West is doomed. There are just too many fronts, some obvious, other not obvious at all. Then you could say approximately only less than half the country are aware of the illegal immigration epidemic, the Islamic propogation across the globe, and a far leftist Democrat party that is so weak on terror and could so bludgeon to death a robust economy that it is now that we may say 'not if the US will fall to utter ruins, but when'.

Michael Savage, whose politics can turn the stomach of any moderate republican, anytime, , has it right. He states that essentially should a leader promise that would be even stronger than Bush on terror, he would be swept to power in an instant. An example: North Korea conducts a nuclear test? Immediately conduct airstrikes to take out all of North Korea's missle launch sites, or some such other military retribution. Instead we get the UN. And a China that gets to scold their satellite, and get them back to the original plan of Communist takeover. President Bush and the administration are at the mercy of the leftists. They fear the leftist reprisal, whether from the UN, Western Europe, or our own Moveon.org crowd. They are only doing the minimum it seems to keep all parties happy, including our enemies. The UN is happy, Western Europe is happy and our enemies proceed undeterred. When does the madness end? Where is our Genghis Khan that can strike fear into our enemies? Nowhere to be found, that's where.
