Afghanistan deports Christian Koreans - Yahoo! News

Afghanistan deports Christian Koreans

This story has me so mesmerized. Even amid war between Israel and Hezbollah and it's implications, this story has me completely transfixed. On the one had, I have so much disappointment in Afghanistan...the clerics and this bullshit policy to have them removed.

Interior Ministry spokesman Yousef Stanezai said the Koreans entered the country with tourist visas, but their activities showed they had a different agenda.

"The program was against the Islamic culture and customs of Afghans," he said, adding that the South Koreans had been told to leave the country as soon as possible.

We all know that Islam is not a religion of tolerance, but c'mon! Afghanistan is trying to get out of the 15th century, let those who can help, help!
Rather, its members began entering the country a month ago to provide computer and business training, medical and dental care and arrange sports activities in five cities, he said.

A now-canceled Peace Festival at the main stadium in Kabul, intended to mark the group's fifth year of volunteer work in Afghanistan, was to culminate the visit on Aug. 5-7, he said.

So sad. So backwards. It just makes you wonder if there really is any hope for Islamic countries.

On the other hand, I look at these most admirable of Korean citizens. Leaving all the creature comforts of South Korea to go to a hot, dusty, very dangerous Afghanistan and give their time and treasure. My heart heart swells for them, but my pity swells also for the people of Afghanistan, enslaved by the islamic cleric masters who enslave and keep them in the dark ages.
