Freedom to Slaughter....errr the Freedom of Choice Act

Keep your eye on this Bill, particularly if Obama gets elected. It will be all out war on the womb.
1.5 million legal murders a year in the US will be child's play.

Freedom of Choice Act Would Remove All Limitations on Abortions

"The Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA), was first introduced in November of 1989 by Representative Don Edwards (D- Calif) and Senator Alan Cranston (D-Calif). It was proposed to “codify Roe v. Wade,” and was, at that time, opposed by Senator Carol Moseley Braun (D-Ill), who argued that it did not go far enough to unleash – on a national level – a complete and unrestricted access to abortion. The first version, according to the Senator, dangerously allowed some conscience protection to health care professionals and did not require states to fund abortions.

The more recent wording of FOCA, introduced last year, is as follows:

“A government may not (1) deny or interfere with a woman’s right to choose – (A) to bear a child; (B) to terminate a pregnancy prior to viability; or (C) to terminate a pregnancy after viability where termination is necessary to protect the life or health of the woman; or (2) discriminate against the exercise of the rights set forth in paragraph (1) in the regulation or provision of benefits, facilities, services, or information.

This act applies to every Federal, State, and local statute, ordinance, regulation, administrative order, decision, penalty, practice, or other action enacted, adopted, or implemented before or after the date of enactment of this act.” Text of H.R. 1964 and S. 1173, introduced on April 19, 2007.

It is clear that FOCA would immediately make null and void every current restriction on abortion in all jurisdictions. According to a recent article by Tom McCloskey, “FOCA Would Harm Women and Remove Freedoms,” and reported by the Family Research Council, if FOCA was passed it would automatically overturn:

- State abortion reporting requirements in all 50 states
- Forty-four states’ laws concerning parental involvement
- Forty states’ laws on restricting later-term abortions
- Forty-six states’ conscience protection laws for individual health care providers
- Twenty-seven states’ conscience protection laws for institutions
- Thirty-eight states’ bans on partial-birth abortions
- Thirty-three states’ laws on requiring counseling before an abortion
- Sixteen states’ laws concerning ultrasounds before an abortion

American Carol Sabotaged?

Was Conservative Comedy Sabotaged?

"The producers of the liberal-bashing satire An American Carol claimed Tuesday that they had received reports of "ticket fraud," and suggested that it could be the reason why the film's weekend box-office figures were so low. On the film's official website, a notice asked those who attended the movie, "Please check your ticket. If you were in fact one of those people that were "mistakenly" sold a ticket for another movie please fill out the form below. Hold on to your ticket so we can have proof." The notice continued: "If you have noticed other irregularities with the theaters in your area please let us know in the comment section below. For instance, Rated R film rating (when in fact we are rated PG-13), posters not being up, not being listed on the marquee, image or focus problems, sound issues, etc." By today (Wednesday), the notice had been removed from the site but remained cached on Google."

Liberalism in action.

Robert Kiyosaki of Rich Dad saw it coming

D-day for Dow today?

I've been watching that thing fall in slow motion the last few days, one source said Thursday could be a deathblow, as derivatives from Lehman brothers are being announced and if the news is not good it could cause serious damage.

Panicked investors have been fleeing from stocks. The S&P is down 37 percent from its peak of 1,565 a year ago, closing at 985 on Wednesday, and the Dow has tumbled 35 percent from 14,164 to 9,258.

Most experts don't see a recovery until there's greater stability in the housing market, banks are lending freely and employment improves.

Unlike other periods that saw precipitous drops, this one is rooted in foundering credit markets. That makes predictions more difficult than if the plunge were based on company profits or stocks alone.

Dean Reynolds: Obama Plane Smells like Butt

CBS News Via Drudge:

The McCain folks are more helpful and generally friendly. The schedules are printed on actual books you can hold in your hand, read, and then plan accordingly. The press aides are more knowledgeable and useful to us in the news media. The events are designed with a better eye, and for the simple needs of the press corps. When he is available, John McCain is friendly and loquacious. Obama holds news conferences, but seldom banters with the reporters who've been following him for thousands of miles around the country. Go figure.

The McCain campaign plane is better than Obama's, which is cramped, uncomfortable and smells terrible most of the time. Somehow the McCain folks manage to keep their charter clean, even where the press is seated.

I just want to know if this is a true defection from the mainstream media, or is this just Dean Reynolds playing messenger for the MSM to treat them better? "Hey Obama! We're your freaking surrogates and you're treating us like shite! This is your first warning. We really really don't writing these kinds of things, you know like all of us that we hate those republicans, but you're leaving us no choice!"

But, if Dean Reynolds is being sincere, then I'm amazed at this defection, the second in a week if you consider SNL's skit going after the democrat party. Either way, Obama has some serious sucking up to do. It's funny, I can think of a few more people who had a disdain for the free press...anyone? anyone?

I can see Hugo Chavez, Kim Jung Il, and Fidel Castro all shaking their heads and slapping their forehead. "What a rookie! You're supposed wait till AFTER you win the election before you start shunning the press!! What a numbnuts!!"

They re-release the SNL skit that hits democrats hard, but edited

Edited SNL subprime video also happens to excise Barney Frank's involvement

In an interview with Gold, the show’s executive producer, Lorne Michaels, said the Sandlers were distraught but had not demanded the changes. He noted the “People who should be shot” line was deleted as was a reference to their “corrupt activities.”

But a comparison of the two versions shows that actually a little more than that was cut. What also was excised was any mention of the involvement of Massachusetts’ Rep. Frank in the Sandler subprime mess…

In the original skit Sandler addresses Frank, saying, “And thank you Congressman Frank as well as many Republicans for helping block Congressional oversight of our corrupt activities.”

To which Frank replies enthusiastically, “Not at all!”

Good heavens this is gorgeous.

Barack suffers from depression?

This is just my own opinion, but as time has worn on in this campaign and as I've watched Obama more frequently in debates, interviews, and commericals, I am noticing a trend, and that is he seems very depressed to me. It is in his eyes. In some of his angry statements, ala, "I want you to get in your neighbors face and argue". He never seems to exude a general happiness. Many of his toothy grins always seem just for the camera, and always immediately after the smile he always reverts to the long face. Again, I believe it's the eyes that reveal his unhappiness. It seemed to click for me when I was watching the Obama ad on the Obama Channel that I just previously posted about. There is a picture of him with Michelle taken many years ago, and I noticed in this picture he looked genuinely happy, but then I also noticed a beer in front of him. Hmmm.

Does anyone else see this? Does Obama appear to be forcing smiles to you? Does he appear to be genuinely happy to anyone? Even in shots with his wife and kids, he seems to be forcing happiness for the camera. I think there is something to it, this is not just one right wingers silly ruminations...

The Obama Channel on Dish Network

This morning when I woke up, I made myself some hot tea, turned on the tv looking for some news on FOX about the socialist bailout but the first thing that came up was Baracka Obama on a commercial. Then I noticed that it was on ...the Obama channel. I was stunned. I did see a 'paid advertising' label in the corner, but I was still immediately skeptical, as I am with all things Baraka. So I immediately looked online to see what coverage of this was on the internet, and there was plenty here and here.

I am not ok with this yet, but I still need some facts. The one thing that concerned me that the receiver landed on the Obama channel when I first turned it on. That rubbed me very wrong. It could have been my wife who left it there for me before she went to bed the night before I will have to see. But if she didn't, that means that Dish is forcing the channel to be viewed when powered on, and if that is the case, I need to see if that is legal. And if it is legal, Obama better be paying a pretty penny for that 'service'. And also as Dawn Teo of liberal Huffpost blogs,

"Dish Network subscribers are also reporting that when a commercial comes on any of the other channels, an option appears offering to let the user select the Obama Channel." I have not seen that yet myself, but if that can be proved, that would be an expensive line item I would like to see on Baraka's Dish invoice.
Which brings me to the next point. Will Dish provide any transparency on the deal. How much did this cost? Did Obama get a sweetheart deal?

This all smells quite a bit, I must say. I will inquire with Dish myself and see what I can find. I will certainly drop Dish in a New York second if I find Dish is in bed with Baraka the babykiller.

UPDATE:
It's also on Dish channel 5890, also called Obama Channel. Having watched the looped 2 minute ad twice now, it's definitely a little creepy. As a commenter mentioned on Malkin's blog, it has a 1984 feel to it. Big Brother on 24 hours a day. And just the way the ad is presented, it's obviously been carefully designed to soothing. He speaks calmly, many images of traditional Americana, Barak hugging older folks, the soft glowing narration...that's all fine if it was a typical 2 minute spot on tv somewhere, but it has a different effect when it is on a 24 hour loop. Definitely Orwellian.

UPDATE: I asked my wife if she had found and left the Dish receiver on the Obama channel. She responded that she had never heard of the Obama Channel. Since a Dish receiver remembers the channel you left it on when you power on again, and since the channel was not left on Obama Channel, this means that Dish is in effect, 'changing the channel' to the Obama channel so that this is the first thing the viewer sees. I don't think this could be a service offered for a fee, this is unethical, if not illegal. I'm writing Dish to see what response I get. I will most likely cancel my service. This whole deal with Dish is small potatoes, but these little small drips are everywhere in the Obama campaign. Must help stop the drip wherever I can. It's just AMAZING the odds McCain is up against. The fact that the race is as close as it is, is astonishing considering McCain/Palin are up against Obama and his well honed machine of NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, MSNBC, NYT, WaPo, world opinion and secret foreign donations, and on and on. Amazing.

Eduardo speaks directly to Hispanic Voters about abortion, Obama's record

The video Eduardo mentions is found here.

He is also spot on when he states that the abortion has roots with racist eugenicists who financially support abortion among minority populations.

Worldnetdaily has transcript of an actor portraying a racist who wants to earmark a donation for a black baby...
Actor: I want to specify that abortion to help a minority group, would that be possible?
Planned Parenthood: Absolutely.
Actor: Like the black community for example?
Planned Parenthood: Certainly.
Actor: The abortion – I can give money specifically for a black baby, that would be the purpose?
Planned Parenthood: Absolutely. If you wanted to designate that your gift be used to help an African-American woman in need, then we would certainly make sure that the gift was earmarked for that purpose.
Actor: Great, because I really faced trouble with affirmative action, and I don't want my kids to be disadvantaged against black kids. I just had a baby; I want to put it in his name.
Planned Parenthood: Yes, absolutely.
Actor: And we don't, you know we just think, the less black kids out there the better.
Planned Parenthood: (Laughs) Understandable, understandable.
Actor: Right. I want to protect my son, so he can get into college.
Planned Parenthood: All right. Excuse my hesitation, this is the first time I've had a donor call and make this kind of request, so I'm excited, and want to make sure I don't leave anything out.

He also makes a point that I frankly had not heard before or thought of, that Planned Parenthood tends to set up shop in poorer minority neighborhoods. When have you ever seen a Planned Parenthood in an upperclass neighborhood?

He also goes after Obama hard, highlighting his voting record that indicates a complete lack of a human soul, and the existence of a man paid very, very handsomely by the abortion lobby.

End of the US as we know it? Starting to look that way!

It seems surreal to think that this economic crisis could have a far reaching domino effect that could send the United States into a tailspin. I had my 'uh-oh epiphany' yesterday, while many saw this coming months ago. But here we are. If this bailout passes, which is only a band aid intended to get congressional incumbents re-elected, then I think we are done as a country. The possible doomsday scenarios are varied, some probably sensationalistic, but the bottom line is the same: our current way of life will end. In some ways I see this as a good thing. The garbage in our culture, which has been so mainstream will cease. Whether it be on TV, in our music, movies, in our schools...things will change. A major depression will surely change our country's view on abortion, at least for those that were pro-choice. A unborn child that the mother could not be bothered with in this current 'Sex in the City" mindset, will likely view the unborn as a gift from God. Things like pornography will not have a place in a depression, at least not on the scale it has enjoyed for the last 30 years.

But there are other concerns to be sure, which Victor Davis Hanson mentions in his article below.

GEAB Think Tank

"...if Washington really intended to stabilise the Dollar or, more ambitiously, to push it up against the other currencies, there would only be one way (5), in two parts: raising significantly the Fed’s interest rates, and lowering drastically the pace of money printing. But if the government decided to implement this type of policy, the US economy (both real and financial) stops dead a few weeks after : the real estate market falls to zero by lack of affordable credit and as a result of soaring interests on Adjustable Rate Mortgage loans, consumption becomes negative (i.e. shrinks back each month), corporate failures multiply exponentially, Wall Street collapses under the burden of innumerable debts and succumbs to the instantaneous implosion of the CDS market due to counterparties default...

Such a series of events, sure to happen if Washington implements a voluntary policy of dollar-rescue, is probably unacceptable by the US authorities. Therefore, apart from talking – and further self-discrediting – they cannot do anything. The method used in the past decades is no longer available: no one will accept to buy large amounts of Dollars in order to rescue the US currency if some voluntary policy (like the one described previously) is not implemented by Washington. As they will not do it, the rest of the world will draw its own conclusions: everyman for himself, knowing that from mid-August onward, as Beijing is relieved from the constraint of the Olympic Games, a large number of “tough” options (6), put on the back burner until the Games, will resurface (7)."

America’s Nervous Breakdown

Should it continue, a world breakdown may follow.

By Victor Davis Hanson

Ancient thinkers from Thucydides to Cicero insisted that money was the real source of military power and national influence. We’ve been reminded of that classical wisdom these last three weeks.

In a manner not seen since the Great Depression, Wall Street went into panic mode from too many bad debts. The symbolic pillars of American monetary strength for years — AIG, Goldman Sachs, Merrill Lynch, Shearson-Lehman, and Washington Mutual — in a matter of hours either went broke, were absorbed, or were reconstituted. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac collapsed like the house of cards that they were.

Even though the U.S. government rushed to restore trust, hundreds of billions of dollars in paper assets simply vanished. Friends and enemies abroad were unsure whether the irregular American heartbeat was a major coronary or a mere cardiac murmur. How strong — really — was the world’s greatest economy? Was this panic the tab for years of borrowing abroad for out-of-control consumer spending? Had America finally gone too far enriching dictators by buying energy that it either could not or would not produce itself? Had the chickens of lavishing rewards on Wall Street and Washington speculators rather than Main Street producers finally come home to roost?

Allies trust that the United States is the ultimate guarantor of free communication and commerce — and they want immediate reassurance that their old America will still be there. In contrast, opportunistic predators — such as rogue oil-rich regimes — suddenly sniff new openings.

We’ve seen the connection between American economic crisis and world upheaval before. In the 1930s, the United States and its democratic allies — in the midst of financial collapse — disarmed and largely withdrew from foreign affairs. That isolation allowed totalitarian regimes in Germany, Italy, Japan, and Russia to swallow their smaller neighbors and replace the rule of law with that of the jungle. World War II followed.

During the stagflation and economic malaise of the Jimmy Carter years, the Russians invaded Afghanistan, the Iranians stormed our embassy in Tehran, the communists sought to spread influence in Central America, and a holocaust raged unchecked in Cambodia.

It was no surprise that an emboldened Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad once again last week called for the elimination of Israel. He’s done that several times before. But rarely has he felt brazen enough to blame world financial problems on the Jews in general rather than on just Israelis. And he spouted his Hitlerian hatred in front of the United Nations General Assembly — in New York, just a few blocks away from the ground zero of the Wall Street meltdown.

Flush with petrodollar cash, a cocky Iran thinks our government will be so sidetracked borrowing money for Wall Street that disheartened taxpayers won’t care to stop Teheran from going nuclear.

At about the same time, a Russian flotilla was off Venezuela to announce new cooperation with the loud anti-American Hugo Chavez and his fellow Latin American communists. The move was a poke in the eye at the Monroe Doctrine — and a warning that from now on, the oil-rich Russians will boldly support dictatorships in our hemisphere as much as we encourage democratic Georgia and Ukraine in theirs. Chavez himself called for a revolution in the United States to replace our “capitalist” Constitution.

The lunatics running North Korea predictably smelled blood, as well. So it announced that it was reversing course and reprocessing fuel rods to restart its supposedly dismantled nuclear weapons program.

Meanwhile, some shell-shocked American bankers looked to our “friend” China, which holds billions in American government securities, for emergency loans. But the Chinese — basking in their successful hosting of the Olympics, their first foray into outer space, and a massive rearmament — showed no interest in sending cash to reeling Wall Street firms.

During this Wall Street arrhythmia, Islamic suicide bombers attacked the American embassy in Yemen and the Marriott Hotel in Islamabad, Pakistan. Suspected Islamic terrorists were caught boarding a Dutch airliner in Germany. And suicide bombers were busy again in Afghanistan and Iraq.

The natural order of the world is chaos, not calm. Like it or not, for over a half-century the United States alone restrained nuclear bullies, kept the sea lanes free from outlaws, and corralled rogue nations. America alone could provide that deterrence because we produced a fourth of the world’s goods and services, and became the richest country in the history of civilization.

But the bill for years of massive borrowing for oil, for imported consumer goods, and for speculation has now has finally come due on Wall Street — and for the rest of us as well.

Should that heart of American financial power in New York falter — or even appear to falter — then eventually the sinews of the American military will likewise slacken. And then things could get ugly — real fast.
